James Macon - Founder & Managing Director

James Macon is Founder & Managing Director of Wyldera Venture Partners, a venture investing advisory firm serving corporate venture units, institutional funds, and family offices. As a former Partner at Mach49, James specialized in corporate venture capital fund design and execution, leading CVC engagements ranging from $20M to $500M for Global 1000 companies across semiconductors, materials science, energy infrastructure, and mining sectors. His work encompassed investment strategy development, entity structuring, governance design, team formation, and partner-in-residence support for deal execution and portfolio management. He co-founded and managed Closed Loop Capital, a family office-led venture platform investing in early-stage agriculture and food technologies that delivered a 10x return to investors and achieved a 65x aggregate portfolio valuation increase. James brings hands-on venture operating experience from a range of new ventures including eSecLending, where he drove strategic planning and corporate development efforts including the sale of the fintech business to TA Associates. He holds an MBA from Cornell University's Johnson School, where he focused on venture capital and high-growth business management, and a BA from Hamilton College.
